BHF at 2020 Mardi Gras
2020 saw Broken Heel Festival return to Mardi Gras Parade with The Big Pink Bus, again in homage to our Priscilla roots, a throng of dancing Busses. We bus - stopped our way down Oxford Street in our beautiful custom made head pieces, again thanks to our sponsors from AAMI – who allowed our creative vision to come to fruition.
Our largest cast to date! Happy Mardi Gras
BHF at 2019 Mardi Gras
Our tribute to Shirl – aka Broken Hill local and dear friend of the Broken Heel - June Marie Bennett - where the tribe of Shirls & the Pink Miners shouted “Yes – you can have everything” a fitting reminder of the change of ways in the region.
The replica of the Shirl’s bust produced by our friends @ A Blanck Canvas & sponsored by AAMI.
BHF at Mardi Gras 2018
2018 – Our first adventure to Mardi Gras with our rather ginormous Stiletto from the original Australian Priscilla the Musical…, we had fun in the mud to dress our 4wd in our regions beautiful red dirt, blew some glitter to mend the patches and checked the route for low bridges and took a 2 day drive to the heart of Sydney.
Adorned with the festival queens and some wild dancing birds Broken Heel and Far West NSW had our first Mardi Gras Parade float.
We even met the gorgeous Dani Minogue and the cast from Orange is the new Black at the festival launch.
