Sexy Galexy

Sexy Galexy is an Australian Drag King legend with 30 years of experience as an artist, face and body painter, and producer. Known for their blend of glamour and masculinity, Sexy created the unique Drag King look known as Glamourboi, which has inspired many internationally renowned Drag Kings.

Starting in 1993, Sexy performed as both a King and a Queen. It wasn't until 1998 that Sexy solidified the King persona of Sexy Galexy. After nine years of performing, Sexy began to achieve the success they had been striving for, creating their own weekly and monthly King nights. In addition, Sexy played a significant role in the Drag Queen circuit, performing alongside Queens in their weekly production shows and performance nights, which was unprecedented at the time. Sexy consistently brings legendary stage presence, high glamour, high camp, and bejewelled performance magic to every event.

Sexy has worked at the famous Candy Bar in London and Brighton, was the first Drag King performance at Brighton Pride in 2008. They have also performed in Cambridge, Manchester, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Belgium, Stockholm, Japan, and Washington DC at The Great Big in 2007. Sexy won three consecutive Sydney Diva Awards in 2003, 2005, and 2006, and toured their solo show "Manliness" in 2015. In 2018, Sexy was featured in the TikTok series "Scattered."

Sexy curated Australia's first Drag King history exhibition, "Behind the Zip," for Sydney World Pride. They were featured on ABC's "You Can't Ask That!" (Series 3), and their costumes were exhibited at The Powerhouse Museum in the "Absolutely Queer" exhibit in 2023. Some of Sexy's awards, pictures, and costumes are displayed at Qtopia Sydney - The Home of Queer History and Culture.

Now, Sexy is venturing into the world of DJing, continually staying relevant and engaged in the drag scene. Sexy has DJed at prominent venues such as Universal and Imperial Hotels in Sydney, Bernie's Bar in Newcastle, and the Barba party in Melbourne.

Despite the challenges of being a woman in this industry, where gigs are still hard to come by, Sexy has shown immense dedication and emotional strength. It has been a tough journey, but Sexy continues to hope for a future where women are seen as relevant and equal in the Drag community.
